30 Tasks a VA can complete in one hour

For those looking to hire a Virtual Assistant on an hourly rate but wondering what on earth can be completed in that time- read on! The following ideas can really help get things under control.





Here is a list of 30 example tasks to give you an idea of what you can delegate to a VA and make those pesky tasks vanish off your mile-long to-do list!

  1. Data entry- create a spreadsheet for your business cards- especially handy following a networking event!

  2. Transcription plus proofreading and formatting of a 15 min audio or video file

  3. Proofread 4 x 250-word documents

  4. Convert word documents into PDF documents

  5. Create and edit a 10-page PowerPoint presentation (with content provided by the client)

  6. Copy typing- 6 x A4 pages of text

  7. Mail merge and envelope stuffing of 100 letters

  8. Research travel, timings and costs for trips- business and personal

  9. Book travel (flights/hotels/car hire/trains/restaurants) and create a travel itinerary

  10. Research 5 products- any subject from a competitor, to service quotes, to the best doggy day care in the area for when you are away!

  11. Manage and increase Twitter followers

  12. Schedule 25 Tweets

  13. Write a blog from scratch- keyword optimisation will take longer

  14. Create Pinterest boards and increase followers

  15. Create 2 pins for Pinterest on Canva

  16. Source images for a blog or website, resize to correct format & upload

  17. Create a company page on LinkedIn/ Pinterest/ Facebook

  18. An hour of blog moderating- approving comments and replying to comments

  19. An hour of managing your social media profiles- commenting on posts etc

  20. Dropbox/ Google drive organisation

  21. Set up a Google Calendar and import appointments

  22. Detox and organise your inbox- get rid of spam!

  23. Set up a mailing list and import a list to an email management system

  24. Create a basic email newsletter to send out to your subscriber list

  25. Setting up of 4 basic webinars and sending out invitations- these should take around 15 minutes each

  26. Setting up a second phone number via Skype & arranging a PO box for your business

  27. Designing a business card, and once proofed ordering on your behalf

  28. Event planning- research venues and costings

  29. Event planning- book venue, arrange catering and manage related invoices

  30. Review suppliers and find best prices
