10 benefits of being a VA!

Writer's picture: PA QueenPA Queen

Are you thinking of becoming a Virtual Assistant? I have been working as a VA for the last few months and thought that I would share my top ten reasons why being a VA is great!

  1. You can choose your own hours- work full time or part time and have a job that fits in with your life.  Need to take your child to the doctors?  No problem!  You don’t need to get permission and there will be no eye rolling from anybody.

  2. No more commute in the dark and rain.  No more rush hour traffic (why are you beeping at me you monster!?) or having your personal space invaded on public transport (read having your face pressed up against a stranger’s armpit)!

  3. No more office politics/ monthly reviews/ boring meetings/ annoying colleagues/ grubby restrooms/ dirty shared kitchens! Remember that time you spotted Slimy Simon from Accounts drinking out of your mug? *shudder* Simon will have to get his own mug!

  4. You can work from anywhere in the world! Work from home (with your dog!), or you can work remotely in a coffee shop/ a shared office space/ on holiday/ anywhere that there is WIFI! You don’t have to sit at a desk all day for hours on end if you don’t want to!

  5. You can work with amazing clients as you can choose who you work with!  They are your clients, you do not work for them as in the traditional sense of a PA.  Find your tribe!

  6. You are in control of your destiny.  Running your own business is very empowering.  Yes, its hard work but the feeling of achievement cannot be measured.

  7. You can do the type of work you enjoy.  Love being creative?  Specialise in being a Pinterest VA.  Hate pivot tables?  Don’t offer it as a service.  You have the freedom to specialise in your niche and find clients that are seeking your skill set.

  8. You will learn new skills constantly and grow and develop whether you plan on doing this or not!  But who wouldn’t want to?

  9. You can set your own rates.  Know your worth.

  10. You won’t be bored as you can undertake a variety of tasks rather than doing the same day in, day out.

Hope this helps!

Yours Virtually x Katy
